Regional Sales Manager - Chicago
Public bionanotechnology company seeks an aggressive, highly motivated sales professional to develop and expand sales of a novel research instrument. This instrument enables a multitude of new applications across several scientific disciplines, so flexibility will be an asset. Successful candidates will also have an entrepreneurial spirit and the abilty to think and act independently to solve problems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Must be a deal closer, with industry and customer knowledge of research instrument sales (microarraying, AFM, biochip, LCM, microscopy, lab automation or microfabrication/MEMS).
- Demonstrated ability to promote new and existing products lines and expand current market share, with a proven record in prospecting, relationship building, negotiating, closing and follow-up.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and time management skills, and a willingness to travel (50% travel expected).
- Technical aptitude and a strong interest in nanotechnology.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in scientific or technical area with a preference for biology/chemistry graduates, with a minimum of 4 year experience in research instrumentation sales and marketing.
- Tradeshow experience and familiarity with ACT Customer relationship management software a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
